Invictus Performance is dedicated to the provision of Sport and Performance Psychology and Mental Health Services to organizations and individuals in high pressure, performance-based cultures.

Invictus Performance carefully selects the most experienced and accomplished professionals from every area of Performance Psychology to work with us and ultimately our clients. We often use Professional Athletes, Military personnel, First Responders, Business Leaders, Coaches and Executives to give real world experience and context to the information we provide. All of our Performance professionals are trained at a graduate level and licensed or credentialed in their area of expertise.

For over two decades Dr. Anderson and his team have worked with the Military, First Responders, Fortune 500 Companies, Professional Athletes and Athletic Organizations. During this time, he has taught and learned valuable lessons in Leadership Training and Organizational Development in order to help individuals achieve personal and professional excellence. Derick Anderson

Founder and President

The Founder of Invictus Performance Inc, Dr. Derick Anderson is a licensed clinical psychologist who has been in practice for over two decades. Dr. Anderson began his career in performance psychology working with the Miami Dolphins under Coach Jimmy Johnson. After three years of working with the team, Dr. Anderson continued his career in sports as a consultant for the NFL.

Opportunities with the U.S. Army Pacific Command and the Army Corps of Engineers drew Dr. Anderson away from sports for a time to develop leadership and communication skills for civilian and military leadership. Transitioning from working with the Military back to working with the civilian sector Dr. Anderson began working with the U.S. Marshals, FBI, Interpol and the Internet Crime Against Children Unit (ICAC). In his role with these organizations, he provided Wellness strategies for investigators and provided profiles of child predators and other violent offenders. Over time, other interesting opportunities presented themselves within the state prison system, alcohol and drug rehabilitation industry and corporate consulting.

After a self-imposed hiatus Dr. Anderson returned to sports with a renewed interest in helping athletes and other elite performers achieve at the highest levels. His return to sports included: 5 years with the New York Mets that included a World Series appearance. Additionally, during his tenure the Mets boasted the largest and most comprehensive Sport Psychology Program out of the four major American Sports. During this time, he also consulted for the Cleveland Browns was the Director of Sport and Performance for the Miami Marlins, the Lead Clinical Consultant for the NBA and served as a Board Member for the NFL’s Player Care Foundation.

He is currently the Director of Sport Psychology for the Washington Wizards, The Sport Psychologist for the Florida Panthers Hockey team, and the Lead Clinical Consultant for the NBRA. Dr. Anderson is based in the South Florida where he along with a highly skilled and experienced team of professionals is active in developing Invictus Performance to bring the lessons learned over his diverse career to individuals and organizations invested in excellence.

Jim Soda

Executive Director and Draft Specialist

Jim Soda is a licensed clinician with over 15 years of experience working with sports performance and mental health. Jim started his sports career in broadcasting, working for ESPN radio in Orlando and Tampa. Jim spent 5 years working with the Tampa Rays before transitioning into residential substance use disorder and mental health treatment. Jim spent the next decade working as a therapist, director, and eventually starting a center for young men in early recovery.

With two masters degrees, one in Vocational Rehabilitation and Mental Health Counseling from The University of South Florida, and one in Sports Psychology from Ashford University, Jim has been able to work in both crisis management and performance improvement. Jim is a solution-focused therapist who believes that the mental strength skills needed to succeed in the high performance world, can also benefit those needing to turn their life around. Jim has spent a large part of his treatment experience working in adventure and activity based therapy with young adults. This experience has benefited him greatly when it comes to his more recent work with Major League Baseball,the NBA Red Bull and his private practice work with athletes in South Florida. Jim is Certified as a Mental Performance Consultant.

Jim also believes that performance improvement extends to teams, organizations, cultures and families. Jim has presented on mental skills for individuals, organizations, athletes and substance use and eating disorders. Jim was a multi-sport athlete with a primary focus on golf, which he continues to enjoy today. Jim spends as much time as he can outdoors with his wife and daughter in Jupiter, Fl.

Aaron Jeckell

Sport Psychiatrist

Aaron Jeckell is a licensed psychiatrist with a passion for treating mental health issues as well as optimizing mental wellness and performance. Aaron is board certified to work with both adults and youths. He did his medical training in Tampa at the Morsani College of Medicine and went on to complete his residency at The University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Hospital and fellowship in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Vanderbilt University.

During his training he received numerous awards including induction into the Gold Humanism Society and the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society. He continued to work at Vanderbilt University for several years where he developed an expertise in working with a diverse range of elite athletes. He is well published, having written and contributed peer-reviewed research in areas including concussion, brain injury, bullying and hazing in sport, and working with diverse elite athletes. Clinically, he has worked with athletes ranging from youths and amateurs to professionals and Olympians.

Aaron recognizes that while elite athletes are often unmatched in terms of physical abilities, they are no less vulnerable to a range of mental health struggles than the general population. In fact, the stress and pressure of performing at an exceptional level often creates a new set of concerns that others may never experience. It is this understanding and perspective that makes Aaron an expert in navigating this field. He believes strongly that peak performance begins with honing the mind. By providing evaluations and consultation, he is able to give immediate feedback regarding any mental health concerns and approaches to overcoming them.

In his free time he enjoys staying active playing hockey, hiking, cooking, and spending time with his wife and children.

Dafna Aaronson

AI Testing, Special Projects

Upon completing her studies at Wharton and University of Pennsylvania's School of Engineering, Ms. Aaronson served as Global HR Analytics project manager at Deutsche Bank, where she designed and rolled out Deutsche Bank's Workforce Analytics team, generating HR revenues for the first time in the Bank's history.

Dafna is a multi-sport athlete who competed as a middle-distance runner for UPenn's Track and Field team. Along with a specialization in Positive Psychology and Gamification certification, Ms. Aaronson is uniquely positioned to understand how the whole person interacts with organizational culture.

Daniella Rodriguez

Bilingual Mental Skills Coach

Daniella Rodriguez has been a Mental Skills Consultant for 5 years working with high school, collegiate and professional level athletes. After completing her Master's Degree in Sport, Performance and Exercise Psychology from Barry University, Daniella began working with athletes from local Miami high schools.

Daniellas professional experience was as a Mental Skills Coach for the New York Mets. In addition to her work with Invictus. Daniella also works with students involved in the arts in enhancing their mental performance during their pieces.

Jeremy Rahn

Mental Skills/Mental Health

Jeremy Rahn is a mental performance coach specialized in working with athletes and high performers. He is a graduate of Boston University, obtaining a master’s degree in mental health counseling with a specialization in sport and performance psychology. Jeremy is the current mental performance coach for the Washington Wizards.

He has worked as a sport psychology consultant for NCAA Division I and NCAA Division III teams prior to his work with the Wizards. He also has experience as a therapeutic group leader for youth using sport as a platform to develop social-emotional skills and achieve therapeutic benefits. Jeremy is passionate about helping athletes and performers build upon their strengths using evidenced-based techniques to enhance performance, enjoy their experiences, and utilize mental skills on and off the field.

In addition to his mental performance work, Jeremy has a background in kinesiology and athletic coaching and enjoys working with leaders to help build positive climates for performance, growth, and wellbeing.

Natalie Léger

Clinical and Performance Psychologist

Dr. Natalie Léger is a licensed sport and counseling psychologist. As a former D1 athlete turned sport psychologist, Dr. Léger has a unique perspective in collaborating with athletes and high performers in maximizing their performance and improving their mental health. Dr. Léger works from a social justice lens to create systems that foster both optimized performance and healthy human development for all athletes, coaches, and stakeholders that make sport and performance the beautiful tool for growth and community that it has the opportunity to be.

After completing her undergraduate studies at The George Washington University, she went on to receive her Master’s of Science in Movement Science with a specialization in Sport, Exercise, and Performance Psychology at Barry University. There she learned the ins and outs of being a mental performance consultant, working with individual athletes, teams, and business owners.

Upon completing her Master’s she realized that she wanted to be able to help sport performers in a holistic way which led her to pursue her Doctorate of Psychology in Counseling Psychology at Springfield College. During her time at Springfield College she worked in schools, university athletics, a brain injury rehabilitation program, and counseling centers, serving high performers at various levels of performance.

After completing her postdoctoral fellowship at Georgetown University, splitting time between the athletics department and counseling center, she started her owned sport and counseling psychology private practice, The Collective Edge PLLC, where she works with athletes and high performers across numerous performance domains to provide individual therapy, mental performance consultations, psychoeducational workshops, concierge sport psychology services, and speaking engagements for teams and organizations.

She also serves as the Senior Director of Synergistic Solutions, a consulting firm designed to support individual and organizational well-being in sport and high performance settings. Dr. Léger remains affiliated with the Association for Applied Sport Psychology (AASP) and the American Psychological Association (APA) and is currently licensed to practice psychology in DC, VA, and NY. She is also in the process of meeting requirements for the AASP certification of Certified Mental Performance Consultant (CMPC).

Lauren Clem Olshtein

Lauren Clem Olshtein is a sport performance consultant and a licensed Certified Mental Health Clinician (CMHC). And doctor of Sport Psychology.

Rolando Gonzalez

Sport Psychiatrist

Rolando Gonzalez is a licensed psychiatrist passionate about optimizing mental well-being and performance by managing mental illness and day-to-day challenges. Rolando is board-certified to work with youth through the adult population. He completed his medical training at Northeast Ohio Medical University. Rolando then completed his residency and child/adolescent fellowship training at The University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Hospital, where he got his first clinical exposure to high-performance athletes in college and high school settings. He is currently sitting for the International Olympic Committee Diploma Program in Mental Health to enhance his knowledge of mental health in elite athletes.

He is an active contributor to education, serving as an Assistant Professor at Florida State University. He has published in multiple books and journals on various topics, including managing depression in athletes and the issue of sports-related concussions.

Rolando has worked in various levels of elite sports, including the college setting, high school, youth Olympic, and professional sports. He provides flexible scheduling, concise evaluation, and treatment plans. He’s also a promoter of collaborative care, focusing on tailoring each athlete’s treatment with their schedule and sport. His treatment approach often focuses on healthy living and how this contributes to peak performance.

Rolando enjoys running distance races regularly during the year in his free time, with the occasional triathlon. He’s an avid reader and vinyl enthusiast and spends most of his time with his wife and daughter.
